Thanks Garbiel, I have been studying some land patents. As of now, when PR was part of Spain, Spain gave land to for example Juan Ponce de León in usufructo, meaning for his use and with restrictions from the crown. Spaniers mantaned greater control over then land. When the US took over at the Paris Treaty, things started to change, property transfers where maintained as per ‘international law’. In short I’m not certain that documentation from the time of Spain would work. One is hard to find and In some part it might work as land was kept in private hands over the Spain/US handover. Later when the US wanted to develop Sugar Cane production they DID gave some land patents of otherwise similar to corporations. My farm was in a sugar place location. I have to research further about this as I think it might be there where the land patent can be looked for. I’ll keep you posted.
