Many years ago, while deep in meditation, I had a vision of the earth that was blanketed in greenery, and sprinkled with the vast, vibrant colors of flowers and herbs. Each yard, a living, breathing piece of art, created and sustained by the love of the people and families that benefit from its bounty. Shortly after this beautiful, heart-warming experience, I was introduced to Anastasia and her vision for the world. The similarities of our visions was inspiring, to say the least, and the fact that she and Vladimir laid out a road map to creating that reality gave me hope and direction for my life.
For years, while living in the city, I would do whatever I could to follow Anastasia's suggestions, even if it just meant growing some herbs and edible flowers on the tiny patio of my apartment. So when the opportunity to steward a friend's 40-acre property came up, I jumped at the opportunity. Even though it meant moving three hours away from where I had spent the last decade building my network, my business, my life. It meant moving to a tiny town, in the middle of nowhere, where I knew no one, where the soil is fertile, and the bright, blue North Carolina skies make for happy gardens all year round.
Today, I spend most of my time playing out in my young food forest, or exploring the natural forest that surrounds, learning about the plants from the plants. I am very much enjoying this precious time and unique opportunity to connect so deeply with the land, and practice skills that will be helpful for my future kin's domain. And also, I am very much looking forward to coming together with my beloved to share this beautiful lifestyle, in a Space of Love that we co-create.
